3. Research Interests

Professor Chenghui Liu's research interests primarily focus on several interconnected and cutting-edge areas within analytical chemistry and biotechnology, aiming to advance the frontiers of life analysis chemistry and contribute to the development of more effective diagnostic and analytical solutions. He is dedicated to nucleic acids analysis, where he explores innovative approaches to detect disease-related nucleic acids (such as DNA and RNA) with high precision. His work has been extended to single particle and single molecule analysis to enable high-precision determination of critical biomarkers that bulk analysis methods cannot provide. He also specializes in digital biosensing, a field that leverages digital signal processing and advanced sensor technologies to create highly sensitive, specific, and quantitative biosensing platforms for applications like disease diagnosis and environmental monitoring. Additionally, Professor Liu engages in nano-biotechnology research, integrating nanomaterials and nanoscale engineering with biological systems to design novel tools and methodologies that enhance the performance of analytical techniques.

Prof Chegnhui Liu won the First Prize of Hebei Provincial Natural Science Award for the project "Research on Highly Sensitive Molecular Diagnostic Analysis Using Molecular Luminescence Technology" (2010), the Second Prize of Hebei Provincial Natural Science Award for the project "Research on Highly Sensitive and Highly Selective Analysis of Novel Biomarker microRNA" (2018), and the Second Prize of Shaanxi Provincial Natural Science Award for the project "Research on New Principles and New Methods of Highly Sensitive Molecular Diagnosis" (2021).
