3. Research Interests

Fang Yu primarily engaged in research on new concept sensors and molecular materials: Proposed innovative preparation strategies for sensitive films, including monolayer chemical approaches, molecular gel techniques, and combinatorial design concepts, revealing the adlayer effect. Invented a layered sensor structure and developed film-based fluorescent sensors and detection equipment for explosives and illicit drugs. Pioneered the extension of molecular gel research to gel emulsion systems, overcoming limitations on the volume fraction of the dispersed phase in traditional gel emulsions. Developed a soft template preparation process for high-strength crosslinked polystyrene foam, achieving dual innovation in material variety and fabrication techniques. By integrating molecular gel theory, resolved critical challenges including atomization difficulties of gel propellants and long-term suspension stabilization of high-energy-density materials.
